Jan 1 - First day of filing period for Clean Elections Candidates to file nomination papers, petitions, & qualifying contributions (deadline is April 8)

Jan 2 - Secretary of State's deadline to transfer voters into new precincts/boundaries

Timelines & Deadlines

The primary for presidential candidates is the Presidential Preference Election (PPE) on March 19, and those ballots will begin to go out in February. Please note that all other primary elections will be held on August 6.

  • Feb 3 - Ballots are mailed to military and overseas voters

  • Feb 20 - Deadline to submit Maricopa County PC petitions to MCDP

  • Feb 20 - Last day to register to vote for March 19 PPE

  • Feb 21 - Early ballots mailed to AEVL for March 19 PPE

  • Feb 21 - Early voting begins for March 19 PPE
